The Great Database
A collection of over a million references, indexed by name, collected into over 200 datasets. Some of the more significant records include
- Burial registers, with many for both Manchester and Oldham
- Manchester Crematorium - memorials and funeral notices
- Institutions for the deaf, blind and mentally ill
- Workhouses, particularly Bolton
- Military, including army deserters
- Early census returns for Bolton
Each of the references links to a description of the dataset from which it is taken and some link to images of the original source.
